Pity Me

I am a miserable Catholic. I am not a Jew. Does the name "CHURCH-well" sound Jewish to anybody? That's what I thought.

I like saying that I'm a Jew, cause Jews have been persecuted for centuries, and I revel in feelings of persecution. Comparing my life to a lion's dinner is cool.

Tarquin,

If you're having trouble getting your Catholic mojo back come and join me on the self-flagellation message boards. It's fun and a pain.

I read that the Sacraments of the Catholic Church are direct channels of grace that empower a person to do do good, overcome evil, and be transformed into what God intended us to be.

I find that without God's grace it is impossible to follow Christ. I have found that much unhappiness comes from being attached to something I want.

I suppose if I pursued the things God wants of me, it would ultimately lead to making me happy. After all, God is the source of eternal happiness and everlasting life.

I came across a great video about the courage of Christ, and the path he forged for all to follow. Check it out:
